    § IIQuestions

    About your estimate.

    Is this a quote?
No. It’s an estimate for an owner’s title insurance policy based on our rate schedule. It isn’t a quote, rate commitment or commitment to insure. The final premium is determined at closing and may vary with the specifics of the transaction.
    What is the liability amount?
For an owner’s policy, the liability amount is normally the purchase price, which is the amount of coverage the policy provides.
How long does an owner’s policy last?
An owner’s policy is paid for once, at closing, and protects you against covered title problems for as long as you own the property, subject to the policy’s terms, exceptions and exclusions.
Who pays for the owner’s policy?
It depends on your purchase contract, which sets which party pays which closing costs. Your agent or attorney can confirm what your contract says.
    What about the lender’s policy?
A lender’s policy protects the lender and is priced separately, based on the loan amount. For a complete estimate that includes it, email orders@atlantametrotitle.com and we’ll review your file with you.
